World Junior Chess begins in India: Russians Vladimir Fedoseev, Alexandra Goryachkina top Seed
Hello chess blog friends, the World Junior Chess Championship 2014 begins today in Pune, India. The event is being organised under the aegis of the All India Chess Federation. The Facebook (www.facebook.com/WorldJuniorChess2014) and Twitter (www.twitter.com/MCL_CIS) handles of the event are cool.
An impressive list of titled players among 141 players from 47 countries participating in the open section. There will be a total of 18 GMs and 20 IMs, led by Russian Vladimir Fedoseev with elo 2677. There are 72 players from 32 countries in the girls section, including 5 WGMs and 11 WIMs, where again Russian Alexandra Goryachkina with elo 2430 defends her title.
