Hello chess blog friends, it's a beautiful world and sports, including chess, is the most amazing way to talk about peace. Why not take a special vow of peace as a chess player? Wherever you are, and whoever you are... if you are reading this, vow to nurture peace in thought and action. We would love to hear your ideas on chess and peace as well so don't forget to leave a comment.

  4. Legend has it that the Queen of King Ravana in ancient Sri Lanka invented chess so the King would not go to war killing people and she was a better player tan him? A prayer for peace and may chess help us all to build a better world. Thank you for your message GM Kosteniuk.

Some of the best friends I have made have been through chess around the world. Chess is a great vehicle for chess around the world. I support the message.

  8. Dear Chess Queen Alexandra Kosteniuk, I follow you loyally on your blogs and social media. I don't think your message is going to make any difference to the hardcore terrorists out there, but yes it is a message of peace that I support because the rest of us do want peace in thought and action on a daily basis without bias for skin, religion, ideology etc. That ways chess is an amazing tool. I congratulate you for offering this peace message and hope many more people will understand its importance as it comes to you from a public figure. Best Wishes, AnanthMurthy, Chennai
