20ème Festival International d'échecs Jean-Claude Loubatière begins in France
Hello everyone, here's the latest chess news update via FIDE. The 20th International Chess Festival named after Jean-Claude Loubatière is being held on 5-13th July at the Salle Jules Pagezy in Montpellier, France.
The event is organised by the Echecs Club Montpellier and the playing format is 9-round Swiss with the time control 1h30/40 - 30' + [30'']. The total prize fund is 5500 EUR, of which the winner will receive 1000 EUR. Top rated players are Grandmasters NI Hua 2674 CHN, BAUER Christian 2649 FRA, ARIZMENDI MARTINEZ Julen Luis 2553 ESP, MAZE Sebastien 2553 FRA, PRIE Eric 2493 FRA, FLEAR Glenn 2464 ENG and INKIOV Ventzislav 2428 BUL.
