The Singapore Chess Federation and the World Chess Federation (FIDE) are organising the FIDE World Amateur Chess Championships 2014 in Singapore from 25 April 2014 to 04 May 2014.
Players must not have a published FIDE rating of 2000 or greater for at least 2 years prior to 01 January 2014. They must not hold any title above CM (WCM). The World Amateur Championship is
open to players registered by their Federation. The World Amateur Women’s Championship shall be held as a separate section if there are at least ten players from at least two continents. If not, the Women players will compete in the Open.
The top 3 players from each Continental Amateur Championship preceding this edition are qualified
with personal rights and their places cannot be substituted.
ENTRY FEES and REGISTRATION FEES The entry fee for the first two nominees of each National Federation is FREE. The entry fee for additional players shall be 30 euro each and which is payable to the Organizing Committee.
All (first 2 nominees, Continental Qualifiers & Additional) players and accompanying persons shall pay a registration fee of 100 euros each to the Organizing Committee.
Entry forms must be sent from the National Federations of the players and returned to the Organizing Committee no later than Tuesday, 25 February 2014. If the registration is not forwarded
by the Federation, a copy must be sent to the National Federation.
The registration email (which must be sent to Organizer by the email: thomas@singaporechess.org.sg), must include the surname/s, first name/s, FIDE ID number, FIDE rating, Date of Birth and Passport Number (for purpose of visa only) of each player and each
accompanying person.
At the time of registration (by Tuesday, 25 February 2014), the amount of 100 Euros (registration fee) + 50% of the total accommodation cost must be transferred, free of bank charges, to the following bank account for each participant and / or accompanying person(s). The rest of payments
must be made latest on arrival. Delegations are advised to pay the total amount of their expenses
through the bank account before their arrival.
According to the FIDE regulations, the participating Federations / persons shall cover the travel expenses of all players, coaches and accompanying persons. All participants should confirm the date
and hour of their arrival in Singapore before Friday, 11 April 2014.
PLAYING VENUE and ACCOMMODATION
The Playing Hall is the Pasir Ris Sports Hall (situated within Pasir Ris Sports and Recreation Centre). 5.2. The Organizing Committee shall provide free board and lodging (twin rooms with bath and/or
shower) for players qualified from the Continental Amateur Championships.
Every participant and all National Delegations will have to register through the Organizing Committee and use the official lodging. Registrations, bookings and visa invitations are to be made
only through the Organizing Committee. Accommodation and board will be provided at the Costa Sands Resort
