The Chess Fun they're having in Gibraltar
Chess Blog for Daily Chess News and Trivia (c) Alexandra Kosteniuk, 2014
Hello everyone,
There's a tradition about chess in Gibraltar every January. This year as well, visiting the upper Rock and Gibraltar’s famous Barbary apes was conducted as part of an "essential tour". We've just received some fun and great photos:
Tournament director Stuart Conquest led a team of players and secretariat members, to visit the apes to the top of the Rock. Even on a wet and cold day in a mostly sunny Gibraltar the outing proved to be a success with many of friendly apes wanting to grab some of the large chess pieces.
Gibraltar sure is developing as the capital of chess fun ;)

Even on a wet day in a mostly sunny Gibraltar it is always great to take chess up the Rock and visit the famous Barbary apes.

Trust me they could have an all-monkey chess tournament soon enough - seriously. Not trying to be sarcastic. Love Gib Chess. one of the best opens.
