Croatia Chess Champion 2014 is Ivan Saric

Hello everyone,

Another chess tournament update via FIDE: Croatian Chess Championship for men for the year 2013 was held on 3-13th February at the Valamar Diamant Hotel in Poreč. Twelve players competed in the round robin tournament.

Grandmaster Ivan Saric, winner of the recent Tata Steel B tournament, emerged national champion after concluding the tournament with 7/11 points. 
The average elo of the players was 2569 and the arbiters were IA Denis Rosandić and IA Eduard Piacun.

Final standings:

1. GM Šarić Ivan 2661 - 7
2. GM Zelčić Robert 2540 - 6.5
3-6. GM Bosiočić Marin 2548, GM Stević Hrvoje 2620, GM Janković Alojzije 2563 and GM Palac Mladen 2554 - 6
7-9. GM Kožul Zdenko 2588, GM Kuljašević Davorin 2578 and GM Brkić Ante 2562 - 5.5
10. GM Martinović Saša 2537 - 4.5
11. GM Cvitan Ognjen 2535 - 4
12. GM Šarić Ante 2545 - 3.5
