Bronstein Chess Memorial begins in Minsk with Baadur Jobava as Top Seed

A www.chess-news.ru update states the Bronstein Chess Memorial has begun in Minsk with GM Baadur Jobava as top seed. The event includes other top Grandmasters like Vladimir Akopian 2682, Gabriel Sargissian 2671, Boris Grachev 2669, Sergey Zhigalko 2661, Rauf Mamedov 2659, Aleksandr Shimanov 2658, Ivan Popov 2653, Evgeny Romanov 2653 and Ildar Khairullin 2651. The nine-round event has a 90'+30'' time control. A tournament is also being held for amateur chess players alongside the main event.

The chess festival is being organised to honour David Bronstein's memory. Bronstein lived in Minsk during the last years of his life and would have turned 90 on February 19.
