4th Asian Seniors and Amateur Chess Championship in Jordan Jan 24-Feb 2

Hello everyone,

The Royal Jordanian Chess Federation, on behalf of the Asian Chess Federation, invites players to participate in the 4th Asian Seniors and Amateur Championships. 




Schedule The Championship will be held from 24 Jan to 2 Feb 2014

System and Rate of Play The tournament will be played in 9 rounds according to Swiss System in respect to the Fide Rules. Time control: 90 minutes for the whole game with 30 second increment per move from the first move.
Tie-Break System The order of the players that finish with the same number of points shall be determined by the application of the following tie-break procedures in sequence, proceeding from (a) to (b) to (c). 

a- Direct Encounter: If all the tied players have met each other, then the sum of points from these encounters is used
b- Buccholz
c- Buccholz Cut1, etc.
N.B.: All players having the same number of points will share their money prizes equally.

Tie-break system will be used for ranking and trophies/medals distribution.

For the best Asian women and unrated, there shall be a playoff among the top four. The 1st plays against 4th and 2nd vs. 3rd two Rapid chess games, then two winners face each other playing two Rapid chess games. In case of tie, one blitz game shall be played. In case of draw, the higher seed shall choose color in sudden death game. The Chief Arbiter shall define specific regulations.

4. Applications & Registrations :

The Asian Seniors and Amateur Championships are open to all Asian seniors and amateurs players.

The Asian Amateur Championship is open to all eligible players who shall have no FIDE Title or published FIDE Rating above 2000 at the start of the tournament nor had such a Rating for at least 2 years prior to the start of the event.

The ASIAN SENIORS Championship is open to Asian senior players.

Male participants must have been born in 1958 or before. Female participants must have been born in 1963 or before. The tournament will be played over 9 rounds under the Swiss pairing system. The event will be FIDE-rated and played under the FIDE time control of 90 minutes plus 30 seconds per move starting from move one.

The Entries must be submitted on the attached registration form and should be returned together with payment receipt not later than 26 Dec 2013. 

Appeals Committee: The appeals Committee will consist of 3 members and 2 reserves and will be declared in the players meeting.

Fees 
The registration fee for the ASIAN SENIOR & AMATEURS CHAMPIONSHIP is 100$ for participation fees and transportation Airport-Hotel & Hotel-Playing. Entry fee to Asian Chess Federation is $25 for the Asian Amateurs.

Prizes Total of US$5,000 ($2,200 for the Asian Seniors and $2,800 for the Asian Amateur) as follows:

Asian Seniors 1st $800; 2nd $500; 3rd $300; 4th $200 and 5th $100; Best Woman $300

Asian Amateur 1st $1000; 2nd $600; 3rd $400; 4th $200 and 5th $100; Best Woman $300
Best Unrated Player $ 200
Titles will be awarded in accordance with FIDE and Asian Chess Federation Regulations.

Payment for AccommodationAll payments for accommodation are the player’s responsibility to be paid in advance at the first day of arrival.

Participants are advised to pay 100 US$ as deposit of their expenses through the Bank account before 26 Dec. 2013

Currency Exchange
The local currency is Jordanian Dinar (JD). US Dollars are also widely used. US$ 1~ =0.708 JD

Visas Players needing visas are requested to contact the Organizing Committee before 26 Dec. 2013 and apply on time to Jordanian Authorities. The Organizing Committee will provide invitations for visas only after the necessary deposit payments are confirmed.
