Stockfish Leads World's Strongest Computer Chess Championship

Chess Blog for Daily Chess News and Trivia (c) Alexandra Kosteniuk, 2013

Hello everyone,

Stage 4 of the world’s strongest computer chess championship TCEC is entering it’s final battles. The winner of Stage 4 and the second placed will proceed to the Superfinal to determine the strongest computer engine of 2013.

Ater 21 rounds played, Stockfish 4 is leading with 14,0/21 – 7 wins, 14 draws, and 0 losses. The amazing performance of Stockfish is contested at this time only by the Stage 2 and Stage 3 winner Komodo with 13,5/21 – 6 wins, 14 draws, and 0 losses.

Third place is for last season’s top engine Houdini with 11,5/21. Houdini is playing successfully vs all other engines, except Komodo, where the score is +0 = 2 -2.

Bouquet with 10,0/21, Naum with 7,0/21, and Gull with 7,0/21 have very little chances for the top two positions. Therefore, the race in the final games of Stage 4 of TCEC will be between Stockfish, Komodo, and Houdini. (www.chessdom.com)
