More chess updates coming in from the Indonesia Chess Open 2013 where eight rounds have been played. GM Alexey Dreev (6/7), who has been leading, played GM Sandro Mareco (5.5/7) and drew thereby keeping the sole lead with 6.5/8.
There was a crowd of players at 5/7 and witnessed quite a few draws. GM Ehsan Ghaem Maghami drew with GM Alexander Moiseenko, IM Nguyen Duc Hoa drew with GM Nigel Short and WGM Elisabeth Paehtz drew with GM Ivan Ivanisevic.
In other major results, GM Eduardo Iturrizaga lost to GM Surya Sekhar Ganguly and GM Dao Tien Hai beat GM Ivan Sokolov. GM Gundavaa Bayarsaikhan lost to GM Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son and GM Renier Vazquez Igarza beat IM Djurabek Khamrakulov.

1. Dreev 6.5/8, 2-3. Mosieenko and Mareco 6/8, 4-11 Short, Ivaninevic, Ganguly, Nguyen Ngoc Trong Son, Vazquez Igarza, Dao, Nguyen Duc Hoa, and Paehtz 5.5/8.
