European Club Chess Cup Inauguration Today; First Round Oct 20th

If you're wondering how to get through the next three weeks before the World Chess Championship 2013 starts then, here's great news. Some of the world's best chess players - men and women - will be playing the European Club Chess tournament in the magnificent Rodos Palace, on Rhodes Island from October 19-28.

There are more than 250 titled players, 105 Grandmasters and 85 International Masters who will be playing great chess on the ‘Island of the Knights’ from tomorrow. 

The inauguration ceremony will take place today and the playing hall is all set with the digital boards for live transmission of all the games live (even though Fide obligations require the organisers to show just 100 games live).
