Bangladesh Chess News: Ziaur Rahman Zia Wins Rating Chess

GM Ziaur Rahman Zia of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club emerged unbeaten champion in the Bishal Trade and Rupali Sarees International Rating Chess Tournament that concluded Thursday at the Bangladesh Chess Federation Hall-Room, reports BSS. Zia earned 8.5 points to clinch the title. Former junior Champion Abdullah Al-Saif of Access Group became runner-up with 7.5 points. Four players shared 7 points. Their ties were broken by tie-breaking system. Their positions are 3rd-IM Abu Sufian Shakil Access Group, 4th-Sharif Hossain of Fire Service & Civil Defense, 5th-FM Mehdi Hasan Parag of Access Group and 6th-Uten.
