The latest chess news from Asia is that the 16th edition of the Prime Bank International Rating Chess Tournament is set to begin in Bangladesh on Wednesday. Bangladesh has focused on chess in the last two years and lot of new tournaments have come up in the country. Several Indian chess players are making space for Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bangkok and Thailand tournaments on their calendar. The leonine Chess Club in association with the Bangladesh Chess Federation is organising the event in Dhaka. Yes it's great to have so many chess tournaments in Asia and not just India. Chess tourism is certainly becoming hot here! I am myself going to play in Bangladesh and Thailand though I am an amateur. It's great all this interest in chess. I would also like to congratulate you Chess Queen for bringing this hip, glamorous image to chess. No longer can anyone say women are dumb or play chess weaker than men. You are a star. Wish you all the best.
