Human Chess Pieces Scheduled to Play at Burnsville Library
Chess blog for latest chess news and chess trivia (c) Alexandra Kosteniuk, 2013
Hi everyone,
Hi everyone,
This looks like a fun chess event. Don't forget to share your photos if you attend this event. Human chess pieces will take over the Burnhaven Library Saturday, June 1, in Burnsville.
The event is a preview for the combat chess finals taking place later this month. The Six Elements Theatre Company will use fake weaponry in a family-friendly demonstration of combat chess at Burnhaven Library in Burnsville.

Players line up as chess pieces on the board with the kings acting as captains. As players move they select weapons to "fight" over the square. The piece that wins the battle takes the square. The game draws its roots from the favorite sport of medieval kings and queens. The event will take place at 11 a.m. at the library, 1101 County Road 42 W., and is a free Legacy Amendment program for all ages.
