With an average of 2776, so far this tournament might be the strongest ever. Tal Memorial 2012 had an average of 2776.

A unique twist is being planned for the location of the super tournament by using a variety of historical locations. The Stavanger region wants to use the event as a means to promote the whole district. The option to repeat the tournament in the region is already being reviewed.

- Super tournament with the majority of the top 10 ranked players
- School tournament with hundreds of children
- Celebrity tournament with a range of celebrities to show their chess skills
