Chess blog for latest chess news and chess trivia (c) Alexandra Kosteniuk, 2013

Hi everyone,

The recently-concluded World Chess Candidates 2013 saw World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen of Norway set up a clash with reigning world chess champion Viswanathan Anand. A special aspect of the Candidates was branding that went into the event for the first time. The winner, Magnus Carlsen, wore a medal designed specially by Pentagram and received it at 10, Downing Street, London. UK’s Chancellor George Osborne presented Magnus Carlsen with the medal for his victory at the World Chess Candidate’s tournament in London.
