Chess blog for latest chess news and chess trivia (c) Alexandra Kosteniuk, 2013

Hello everyone,

Chess players of Nagykanizsa (a small city in the south-west of Hungary) got a super-special chess surprise recently. The city chess club received chess presents from 12th Women's World Chess Champion Alexandra Kosteniuk for their special chess ball event held recently. The main organiser of the event was József Kercsmarics. Everyone had lots of chess fun and loved the chess gifts sent by Chess Queen Alexandra Kosteniuk, says Mariann Bardocz-Bencsik.

Nagykanizsa is one of the centres of Hungarian chess. The city chess club No.1 team is five-time Hungarian chess champion. There is great emphasis on training the young boys and girls at the chess club on a daily basis. The youngsters participate in regional and national competitions with excellent results.

Here's another "happy chess" photo from the Nagykanizsa chess club. In the back (from left to right) you can see Eszter Balogh, Vivien Mátyus, while in the front row Kitti Perger, Boglárka Boa and Sára Salamon are sitting.

We are would like to wish them all the best with their chess adventures and chess training with their chief trainer József Kercsmarics.
