Peru Chess News: Magistral IPD 2013 Strongest-ever Chess Event in the Country

Hi everyone,

The 1st Magistral IPD 2013 is taking place on 5-10 February at the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería on Lima, Perú, according to a Fide chess news update.

The tournament is a 10 player single round-robin. Players from six different countries will participate in the competition. The time control is 90 min + 30 sec increment per move. This Category XIII event is the strongest tournament ever held in Peru.

The IPD (Peruvian Institute of Sports) has decided to support this competition in order to give a chance to the young Peruvian International Masters of getting the GM norms without leaving the country.
