Hi everyone,

The excitement went right down to the ropes in both the men and women's sections at the Moscow Chess Open 2013. In the women's section Marina Romanko lost the round, but luck favoured her. In today's decisive game Romanko was defeated by Anastasia Bodnaruk, but as long as Lidia Tomnikova lost against Tatiana Khlichkova, and Maria Manakova beat Evgenia Ovod, Marina Romanko still became the winner. As luck would have it, everything fell in place and Romanko won the Moscow Chess Open for the second year in a row. Earlier, Romanko had actually clocked seven straight wins in the first seven rounds.
