Chess blog for latest chess news and chess trivia (c) Alexandra Kosteniuk, 2012
Hi everyone,
The first of 64 FIDE Women’s World Chess Championship participants to arrive in Khanty-Mansiysk were the strongest chess players of China, Russia, India, United States, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Qatar, Lithuania and Slovenia. In total, they were on the way for two and a half hours. According to the guests of the Ugra capital, they reached it with comfort However, when landing, they got a little confused by a snowstorm, but all the agitation vanished – the flight was good. Now the participants are accommodated in a comfortable hotel “Olympic”. The opening ceremony begins soon and would be broadcast live via the official website.
The first round would be played in the CTC “Ugra-Classic” on Sunday, November 11. Entrance is free for the audience and, of course, there would be live broadcast via the official website.
