Here is some latest chess news for all those wondering where are the Bulgarians. GM Ivan Cheparinov has just won the Politiken Chess Cup that took place from July 28 to August 5 at the Konventum Lo-Skolen in Helsingør, Denmark, according to a press release. More than 25 Grandmasters and eight International Masters made up the 280 registered chess players for the event. There were 20 prizes and the winner takes home 20.000 DKK (2700 EUR). In addition, 4,700 EUR was allocated for the special elo prizes. The official website also states that they have confirmation of the sponsorship for the event until 2014. The defending champion was GM Igor Kurnosov.
