Enrico Sevillano wins 21st Metropolitan Invitational, is America's Newest GM

Metropolitan Chess, Inc. hosted a Grandmaster norm round robin tournament from August 3-7, 2012. This tournament was the 21st in its series and was held in the Malibu Room of the Radisson Los Angeles Airport Hotel. The tournament was organized by Ankit Gupta, FA, IO.
The participants included: GM Robert Hess (USA), GM Melikset Khachiyan (USA), GM Dejan Bojkov (BUL), IM Andranik Matikozyan (ARM), IM Mackenzie Molner (USA), IM Roman Yankovsky (RUS), IM Levon Altounian (USA), IM Marc Arnold (USA), IM Enrico Sevillano (USA), and FM Alexandre Kretchetov (RUS). The tournament was a 10 player round-robin (all play all).
The tournament was won by IM Enrico Sevillano – who also received his final GM norm, making him America’s newest GM-elect. The tournament was sponsored by California Market Center, Fashion Business, Inc, Chess.com, MonRoi, LawyerFy, the Law Offices of Steinfl & Bruno, EventForte Inc, and Betty Bottom Showroom.
