Hi everyone,
Chess Blog friend Adolivio Capece has just sent us news about one of the most important chess tournaments in Italy - in Bratto della Presolana (near Bergamo). It concludes on August 26 and has become one of the strongest chess tournaments in Italy with 11 GMs and 15 IMs playing in the Main Group (Magistrale). One of the Grandmasters is After 4 games, GM Panchanathan (India) is leading with perfect score. You can keep track of all the updates via the official website.
Another interesting bit of news there is that GM Alberto David has now received the Italian citizenship and will be playing the next Italian Chess Championship (in Torino starting October 30) and, possibly, the Chess Olympiads 2014 as an Italian Grandmaster!
