What Chess 'Stuff' Morozevich Has and Carlsen Would Like to Have?
Chess blog for latest chess news and chess trivia (c) Alexandra Kosteniuk, 2012
Hi everyone,
World's top-rated chess player Magnus Carlsen, after winning the 7th Mikhail Tal Chess Memorial in Moscow, spoke to Russian chess news website chess-news.ru.
Magnus Carlsen - This Moro thing I must check out after the game! |
Alexander Morozevich supporters at the Tal Chess Memorial |
Carlsen: Yes, that was nice. It would be nice to have such support myself.
Speaking to Chess News, Carlsen also said, "I don't know if last year's Tal Memorial was more important for me or this one. I think, this win was very important because I have not won a tournament since I won the Tal Memorial last year. But am very happy. It was tough and I definitely needed not only my own help, but some other people's help as well. You know this is the way it happens sometimes."
Before the last round, said Carlsen, "I didn't think too much about it. I was half a point behind and I was playing black, the chances of winning the tournament were not great; but I felt that, even though I was very disappointed with the result yesterday, I had to come and play; as it turned out I eventually managed to outplay McShane. I saw Caruana was behind on time, He had a difficult position and that gave me motivation as well."

wow did that cheering really happen. Moro's got a following. It's great for chess. We should have it more often. If Carlsen played in Norway then for sure for him there or in the US. I think it could happen in delhi too if there was a big sponsor like for formula racing. wishful thinking ha ha ha
