Asian Senior Chess: Australian Luchtmeijer Wins Title in Sydney

Anthonie (Ton) Luchtmeijer of Australia has won the 2012 Asian Senior and 2012 Oceania Senior Championships which were held 1-8 June 2012 at the Parramatta RSL Chess Club in Sydney.
Ton Luchtmeijer (rated 2161) scored 6.5/9 to finish half a point ahead of WFM Shirchin Battsengel of Mongolia who won the 2012 Asian Senior Women’s title. WFM Helen Milligan of New Zealand won the Oceania Senior Women’s title. The event was organised by the Oceania Chess Confederation on behalf of the Asian Chess Federation.
