Hi everyone,
During the opening ceremony held in the Mikhail Vrubel Hall, Russian and Indian anthems were played. Arkadij Dvorkovich and Irina Lebedeva, director of the playing hall, welcomed the guests. There were rapid photo shoots and a welcome speech by FIDE President Ilyumzhinov. Anand and Gelfand sat next to each other. Anand picked White for the first game. Later, Denis Matsuev took the stage for a music performance.
