David Navara, Tereza Olsarova Win Czech Chess Championships 2012

The 2012 Czech Chess Championships for men and women were held from 12th to 20th May at Kouty nad Desnou, hotel Dlouhé Stráně. The 9-round Swiss event featured 47 participants. We have the latest chess news updates via Chessdom. Grandmasters David Navara and Alexej Kislinsky shared the first place with 7 points each. Navara is declared champion on better Buchholz score. This is his 4th national title (after 2004, 2005, and particularly convincing in 2010).
WIM Tereza Olsarova, the best placed woman with 5 points, is declared the Czech Women Champion. The prize fund was about 7600 EUR. There were also appearance fees, sorted according to rating, with David Navara receiving the highest amount of 520 EUR.
