Chess Fest for World's Best School Champions in Bulgaria from July 7

Hi everyone,

There is a cool chess tournament coming up for school kids in the U8, U10, U12, U14, U16 categories. The Bulgarian Chess Federation, the National Children Chess Foundation, Sea Horse, Chess Club, Veselin Topalov and the Municipality of Varna, with the support of the European Chess Union are holding the event - titled Hopes of the World: IX European Open Festival for School Champions. It will take place at the Grand Hotel “Varna*” from 7 until 20 July 2012.
 
Eligible to participate in the tournament are school champions (boys and girls) in various age groups (under the age of 8,10,12,14 and 16), born after 1 January 2004, 2002, 2000, 1998 and 1996. All the costs (accommodation, catering and registration fee) shall be at the expense of the school, clubs or their sponsors. 

The registration form shall be filled in by the National Federation or by the school administration, and shall be sent by e-mail to the Organizing Committee no later than 15 May 2012.
The tournaments shall be held on the Swiss system in 9 rounds. The event shall be played according to the FIDE rules. The time control for a game is 90 minutes for 40 moves per player plus 15 minutes until the end of the game. The tournament is registered with FIDE and shall have international qualification validity. Within the Festival programme there will be held the First Open Tournament “Fisher Random Chess”
