Some Latin American chess news via www.chessdom.com. WGM Claudia Amura has won the first edition of the Magistral Edith Soppe which took place from March 2-8 in San Luis, La Punta. Organised by the local university and government, the tournament was a closed event with the participation of six players which included one GM, two IMs, one WGM, and one WIM.

Organised by the local university and government, the tournament was a closed event with the participation of six players which included one GM, two IMs, one WGM, and one WIM.
Claudia Amura collected 7,0/10 to win the event with a full point advantage ahead of IM Carolina Lujan, while the third place went to IM Francisco San Alonso.
