Romanian chess championships 2012 begin
Hi everyone,
Here is the latest chess tournament update via www.chessdom.com. The 2012 Romanian Chess Championships for men and women are set to take place from 10th to 19th February at the Great Hall of the Hotel Casino in Sarata Monteoru. Men’s championship will be played over 11 rounds of Swiss system, while ladies will compete over 9 rounds of Swiss. The total prize fund for both events is 30000 RON, roughly around 6900 EUR.

Women Grandmasters: defending champion Foisor Cristina 2395 (AEM Timisoara), Peptan Corina 2425 (CSM Bucuresti), L’Ami Irina 2360 (Poli Iasi), Cosma Luminita 2325 (Apa Nova) and Sandu Mihaela 2248 (Medicina Timis).
