Hello everyone,

The Association of Chess Professionals and the Georgian Chess Federation have announced the ACP Women Cup 2012 - the final tournament of the ACP Women Series 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 to be staged at Sheraton Hotel, Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia, from the 17th to 22nd of February 2012.

This will be one of the strongest tournaments in the history of women chess with three world champions and five Olympic champions participating among twelve world top women chess players. The list of participants include:
 

1. Maia Chiburdanidze (51; Georgia)
Actual rating - 2500; peak rating – 2560 (January 1988)
International grandmaster among men and women;
Five times Women’s World Chess Champion in 1978, 1981, 1984, 1986, 1988;
Nine times World Chess Olympiad Champion in 1978, 1980, 1982, 1984, 1986, 1992, 1994, 1996, 2008;
Four times laureate of Chess Oscar Award
European team champion in 1997;

2.Antoaneta Stefanova (32,Bulgaria)

Actual rating - 2523; peak rating – 2560 (January 2003);
International grandmaster among men and women;
Women’s World Chess Champion in 2004 - 2006
Women’s European champion in 2002;
 

3.Chess Queen Alexandra Kosteniuk (27 years old, Russia)
Actual rating 2448; peak rating 2540 (April 2006)
International grandmaster among men and women.
Women’s World Chess Champion (2008-2010)
World Chess Olympiad Champion in 2010
Women’s European Champion in 2004;
Three times Women’s Team European Champion in 2007, 2009, 2011.

5. Kateryna Lahno (22, Ukraine)

Women’s European champion two times in 2005 and in 2008;
Bronze medal winner in the World Team Olympiad in 2010;
Bronze medal winner in the World Team Championship in 2007.

The youngest grandmaster in the world at the age of 12;
Number 5 chess player according to the women’s world rating list.

6. Nadezhda Kosintseva (26; Russia)
