Hello everyone,
Grandmaster Levon Aronian will play chess against Armenian inmates, as part of a program announced by the Ministry of Justice Tuesday. Minister of Justice Hrayr Tovmasyan also told journalists that a football tournament for prisoners is being planned.
Tovmasyan said the MoJ is copying the experiences of Germany and Austria, where such programs – along with learning skills -- had proved successful in the rehabilitation of criminals, who spend about 80 percent of their days keeping busy, unlike the idle life of prisoners in Armenia.
