Hello everyone,
Legendary Russian Grandmaster Vitaly Tseshkovsky (right - a 1973 photo) has passed away in Krasnodar. He had taken ill during the Krasnodar Krai Rapid Cup first round. Vitaly Tseshkovsky was twice champion of the Soviet Union (1976, 1986), winner of the World Chess Olympiad (1986), European Championship (1977) and other prestigious international tournaments. He finished 4th in the Interzonal tournament in Manila (1976). He was several times champion of Russia and the World Senior champion in individual and team standings. Most recently he was European Senior champion in 2010. You can read further here.

Vitaly Tseshkovsky was twice champion of the Soviet Union (1976??, 1986)- no. 1978!!, 1986.
