Mongolia chess tournament on 100th anniversary of diplomatic services

Hello everyone,
When was the last time you heard about a chess tournament in Mongolia? We always like to hear about chess growing in countries that are just developing the chess culture. Here is one such chess news and we would like to share it.
In recognition of the 100th anniversary of diplomatic service in Mongolia the International Chess Tournament, organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Mongolian Chess Federation, and the Mongolian Forum of the World under the name of Chin Van M.Khanddorj started on December 5. The tournament was started by former Minister for Mongolian Foreign Affairs and trade Ts.Gombosuren about 21 years ago. The prize fund has reached over USD 25,000 and will be sponsored by the World Chess Federation.
Over 120 chess players from Mongolia, Turkey, Russia, Kazakhstan, and China will participate in the tournament, which is divided into two categories of Masters and speed chess.
Winning players will receive USD 5000 each. USD 1500 will be granted to the winner in the category of speed chess. 100 chess players from Mongolia and 20 from overseas will compete in this category. In the category of Master or A category, chess players Anton Shamov from Russia (2578), B.Gundavaa (2478), Cleg Badmatsirenov from Russia (2464), B.Munguntuul (2459), Ts.Batchuluun (2446), D.Sharavdorj (2440), B.Khatanbaatar (2344), T.Batchimeg (2324). The contest will last for a week from December 5 to 11.
