GM Fabiano Caruana wins Italian National Chess Championship for fourth time!

Hello everyone,

Congratulations to GM Fabiano Caruana for winning his fourth title at the Italian National Chess Championships 2011!

The 71st edition of the championships were held from November 29 to December 12 with 12 players vying for the title over a round-robin tournament format. Caruana was the defending champion. He secured the title with one round to spare and eventually won the title with 10 points from 11 games.
He goes home with 3,000 euros and 11 elo points. IM Daniyyl Dvirnyy was second with 6.5 points, while GM Brunello Sabino won the rapid tie-break against GM Lexy Ortega to take third place. FMs Caprio Guido and Marco Codenotti earned IM norms.
