Hello everyone,



We just found this enchanting photo from the report about the Arab Games Round 7 in the chess competitions via Fide. This is what chess is all about - Bringing together people of different backgrounds, cultures, countries, etc. We are one big chess humanity. Don't forget to send us your photos if you have ever gone out to play a chess tournament in your national dress or traditional costume.

Meanwhile, of course, the update on the Round 7. The 12th Arab Games 2011 are taking place from December 9-23 in Doha (Qatar). Egypt leads with 11 points ahead of Qatar at and Morocco.

In the women's section Algeria leads, followed by Jordan and Egypt.

  2. I would like to make a point. It is only from the Western view that the dress might seem different but it is normal to dress like that in your native country or continent. However, looking at it from a distance it does seem that chess is growing on the planet. What we can do have is an international open where players are encouraged to come in their native dresses because by far and large the western dress of wearing jeans or pants has become universal. overall i think chess players should dress well to any tournament. it is a good view for the sport.
