Arab Games team chess event - Egypt, Algeria win men and women's chess section

Hello everyone,

The team chess event as part of the Arab Games have concluded with Egypt and Algeria winning the men and women section respectively. The 12th Arab Games 2011 took place from December 9 to 23, 2011 in Doha (Qatar).



Egypt went into the last round assured of the title and beat Libya. Also, Qatar beat Jordan to finish second. Morocco got the third place by beating Palestine. In the women's section, Algeria lost the last match against Egypt but won the title. Jordan defeated Morocco and took the second place with Egypt winning the third place. You can read more at the Fide website.
