Chess blog for latest chess news and chess trivia (c) Alexandra Kosteniuk, 2011

Hi everyone,

Indian Grandmaster Koneru Humpy went down fighting on Wednesday for the third time (second time in a row) as the challenger to Women's World Chess Champion Hou Yifan. The 10-game match for the world title is being held in Tirana, Albania. This gives Hou a 5-2 lead in the event. Hou now needs just half a point more in the remaining last three rounds to win the title.
