How about a chess holiday to Switzerland followed by New Year celebrations?
The 28th Open International d’Échecs is scheduled to take place on 26-30th December in Genève, Switzerland. The tournament will be divided in two groups, Open A for players rated above 1700 and Open B for U1800 players.
The playing format is 7-round Swiss with 90 min for 40 moves plus 30 min for the remaining moves. The prize fund is 16,000 CHF.
GM Daniel Campora (Argentina), GM Rauf Mamedov(Azerbaijan), GM Namig Guliyev (France), IM Torstein Bae and WIM Silje Berke (both Norway) are the first titled players already signed up for participation.
