An exciting last round at the Max Euwe Memorial Chess Tournament in Amsterdam had Peng Zhaoqin win Group 1 and Robin Van Kampen win Group 2.

An exciting last round at the Max Euwe Memorial Chess Tournament in Amsterdam had Peng Zhaoqin win Group 1 and Robin Van Kampen win Group 2.

At the start of the last round all group 1 players were tied with equal number of points. Only Peng pulled off a nice win against Van der Sterren and an outright tournament win. In group 2, Van Kampen beat Conquest in time trouble and won the first place.

The prizegiving for the Euwe Memorial tournament took place in De Kring and included interesting chess artistic event, lectures, humour, etc.
Final standings
In Group 1 we had Peng Zhaoqin at 3.5 points in six rounds, Pia Cramling and Frederik Olafsson with 3.00 and Van der Sterren at 2.5. In group 2 we had Van Kampen with 4.5, Monika Socko with 4.0, Stuart Conquest with 2.0 and Arakhamia-Grant with 1.5 points in six rounds. You can access the official website at this link.
