Here is nice chess news from the World Senior Chess Championship that just concluded in Opatija, Croatia. 

Congratulations to the new world senior chess champion IM Vladimir Okhotnik and new senior women's world chess champion WIM Galina Strutinskaya.

The 2011 world senior chess champions

WGM Tamar Khmiadashvili (four times World Senior Champion) and GM Anatoly Vaisser came back to defend their 2010 titles. The 2009 Champions GM Miso Cebalo and GM Nona Gaprindashvili (former World Champion and twice World Senior Champion), and reigning European Senior Champion GM Mihai Suba also competed.
