54th Reggio Emilia Chess Tournament from Dec 27

Hello everyone,


The tournament chess news update via www.chessdom.com is that the 54th Torneo di Capodanno is set to take place from 27th December 2011 to 6th January 2012 in Reggio Emilia, Italy. The tournament is changing the format to the very popular six-player double round robin. The participants will be:

Vugar Gashimov, winner of the 53rd Reggio Emilia tournament
Vassily Ivanchuk
Hikaru Nakamura
Fabiano Caruana
Anish Giri
Nikita Vitiugov



WGM Sopiko Guramishvili, Georgia 2374


The tournament is organized by Circolo Ippogrifo di Reggio Emilia, in collaboration with Accademia Internazionale di Scacchi and Scacchi Randagi.


A women's round robin tournament will take place parallel to the main event:

    I dont get it - are these chess playing girls for real - i never seem to have any in the tournaments i play. in fact i miss out on most hot babes cause they find it kinda dull to date a chess player.
