The 15th Univé Chess Tournament is taking place from October 14 to 22 in the town hall of Hoogeveen, The Netherlands. The tournament consists of the Crown Group, Unive International Open and two Amateur Groups.
Unive International Open
The Unive Open is played over nine rounds of Swiss system 9 rounds are played. The prize fund is € 7.500 with a first prize of € 3,000. This tournament starts on 14th October.
Top rated players are: GM Tiviakov Sergei NED 2647, GM Baklan Vladimir UKR 2617, GM Ernst Sipke NED 2581,GM Zherebukh Yaroslav UKR 2580, GM Lenderman Aleksandr USA 2562, GM Nyzhnyk Illya UKR 2561, GM Haslinger Stewart ENG 2542, IM Van Kampen Robin NED 2529, GM Brandenburg Daan NED 2522, IM Grover Sahaj IND 2514, GM Van Der Wiel John T.H. Group I (afternoon group): for players with a rating of 2100
Group II (morning group) also for players with a rating of 2100
Each group is open to a maximum of 84 players. The first prize for both groups is € 250 each.

Crown Group
The Crown Group is traditionally a four-player double round robin and this year has a very strong line-up. Former world champion Vladimir Kramnik (Russia), the top Dutch chess player present Anish Giri, the strongest woman of all time Judit Polgar (Hungary) and the winner of the 14th Unive tournament Maxime Vachier-Lagrave(France), form the lineup of an average rating of 2726 in category 20.
The Crown Group starts on 16th October.

Was just wondering about Kramnik and Giri. Maxime and Judit Polgar back in action too. looks like a nice tournament to follow.
