IM David Larino wins the 2nd Oliver Gonzalez Memorial Chess Tournament

Hi everyone,
Remembering Oliver Gonzalez

The latest tournament chess news is that IM David Larino has won the 2nd Oliver Gonzalez Memorial Chess tournament. He drew an exciting last round game against to win the title.  But GM Ibragim Khamrakulov won his last round game over IM Jose Candela to tie for first. However, he was behind on tiebreak score. There were several side events held at the tournament including football, karaoke night and even a magic show!

    Chess train and side events with chess tourneys. It's all getting more fun and exciting. Who says people don't want to sponsor chess tournaments. God bless the chess world. ;)

    A chess tournament is always a great big holiday in a new city. Then you just fall in love with a city and want to return every year. But chess is the binding force. I love such exciting tournaments. Once I played in Nagpur, India, many years back and the organisers had a live music band playing at the closing ceremony. Then there are these chess fashion shows at the opening ceremony in Germany. I am not a professional chess player but all this is great.
