GM Ivan Salgado wins Ciutat de Barcelona Chess

Hi everyone,

Congratulations to GM Ivan Salgado of Spain for winning the strong Ciutat de Barcelona Chess event. The young grandmaster finished with 5.5/10, the same points as GM Yasser Seirawan, but better tiebreak. Third place went to GM Kevin Spraggett, according to www.chessdom.com. Earlier, we had news that top seed GM Eduardo Iturrizaga did not participate because he was in a car crash. Salgado would be playing the European Team Chess Championship for Spain along with GM Shirov, GM Vallejo, GM Illescas, and GM Arizmendi. You can also see the official website at this link.

  2. He's a young grandmaster. His career would be interesting as his chess gets stronger. I like to read about all these interesting grandmasters from around the world.
