GM Aleksandr Lenderman wins International Chess Open on sidelines of Grand Slam Final in Bilbao

Hello everyone,
Of course the very exciting and strong Grand Slam Chess Masters took attention away from this year's International Chess Open Tournament that is held along with the Final. This year, in Bilbao, the Open was held along side the Final from October 6-11 with 104 players. It was also held at the Alhóndiga de Bilbao.
Three players shared the first place with 6.5 points each – GM Aleksandr Lenderman, GM Ilmars Starostits and FM Alejandro Ruiz Gomez. Lenderman was declared winner on best tie-break score.
Meanwhile, an interesting trivia chess news that combining a couple of byes, GM Korneev simultaneously competed in two tournaments – Bilbao Open and Oliver Gonzalez Memorial in Madrid.
