Chess Queen calls for support to 'Chess for Leadership and Creativity' campaign

Chess blog for latest chess news and chess trivia (c) Alexandra Kosteniuk, 2011

Hi everyone,

“Sport has a unique and irreplaceable capacity to unite people, going far beyond ethnic, religious or social differences. I am convinced that sport can be at the long-term service of peace” - HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco.

That's the quote at the Peace-Sport.org website. And, all of you will be happy to know that Chess Queen Alexandra Kosteniuk is supporting the Chess for Leadership and Creativity campaign. She calls for your support too.

Here is the text from the Peace-Sport website about GM and 12th Women's World Chess Champion Alexandra Kosteniuk's support:

Dubbed the ‘Chess Queen’, Alexandra Kosteniuk is a true ambassador for chess worldwide, who has always worked to ensure that her favourite sport serves peace, human development and social progress. After the project "Ajedrez por la Paz Colombia," the international chess Grandmaster and World Champion from September 2008 to December 2010 is now committed to Peace and Sport and the International Chess Federation (FIDE) as patron of a joint project run by the National Chess Federations in Israel and Palestine, supported by the NGOs "Jerusalem Suburbs Community Center" and "Care Palestine."
