World Chess Cup R4 pairings; Moiseenko, Caruana, Nepomniachtchi among others knocked out

Hi everyone,


The tiebreaks for Round 3 were held today and we have the final list of the 16 who go on to Round four. 


In the tiebreaks (total Round 3 scores in brackets), we saw Vassily Ivanchuk beat Emil Sutovsky (3-1), Yaroslav Zherebukh beating Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (2.5-1.5), Ruslan Ponomariov beating Zahar Efimenko (2.5-1.5), Gata Kamsky beating Ian Nepomniachtchi (3-1), Fabiano Caruana losing to Peter Svidler (1-3), Vladimir Potkin beating Nikita Vitiugov (2.5-1.5), Emilian-Mircea Parligras losing to Peter Heine Nielsen 91-3), Liem Quang Le losing to Lazaro Batista Bruzon (1.5-2.5), David Navara beating Alexander Moiseenko (4-2) and Leinier Perez Dominguez beating Igor Lysyi (5-4). 


Here are the pairing for Round 4 which resumes on Tuesday.

    Dont be surprised if Polgar goes through to Round 5. I heard she playing a tournament in the US on Sept 9... howz zat pausible?

  2. My pick Polgar, Svidler, Pono, Peter, Vassily, Jakovenko, Navara and Grischuk. At least last four I think will include at least Vassily and Svidler for sure.
