The tournament has attracted entries from Bangladesh, Uganda, Nepal, Ukraine, Armenia,Russia, Uzbekistan, Poland and Israel, apart from the host country. Russian GM Maxim Turov, with a rating of 2643, is the top seed in the the tournament. There is also Martyn Kravtsir 2583, Andrey Deviatkin 2580, Deep Sengupta 2572, Nikolai Chadaev 2564, Tigran Kontanjin 2546, Bartlomiej Heberla 2539, Sethuraman 2529, Abhijit Kunte 2528, Ziaur Rehman 2528, Dzhumaev Marat 2492, Enamul Hossain 2481, S Kidambi 2474, Deepan Chakravarthy 2470, Neelotpal Das 2458, Alexi Alexandrov 2457 and R Laxman 2451.

The Mumbai Masters Chess Cup 2011 in India has become a regular event inviting grandmasters from across the world. Interesting names are there in the list of the 17 Grandmasters who are attending the event that runs from September 16.
Around 17 GMs and 30 International Masters and women GMs from 10 countries including seven from India, are to compete in the 4th Mumbai Mayor's Cup International Chess Tournament at the Goregaon Sports Club from September 16.
