GMs Viktor, Volkov, Baklan win 13th International Chess Festival of Trieste

Hi everyone,

Top seeds GM Viktor Erdos, GM Sergey Volkov and GM Vladimir Baklan have jointly won the 13th International Chess Festival of Trieste in Italy. It was held from September 3 to 10. All the three winners had earned 6 points each. 

According to www.chessdom.com, the Festival consisted of two tournaments, Master A for players rated above 1799 and Libero and Zora Polojaz 5th trophy for players rated under 2100. Nicola Pegoraro won the Group B with 7.5 points from nine rounds. 59 players competed.

Master A final standings:
1-3. GM Erdos Viktor 2608, GM Volkov Sergey 2614 RUS and GM Baklan Vladimir 2617 UKR – 6.5
4-8. FM Oparin Grigoriy 2413 RUS, GM Banusz Tamas 2552 HUN, IM Doric Darko 2504 CRO , GM Khmelniker Ilya 2518 ISR and GM Grigorov Grigor 2484 BUL – 6.0
9-12. GM Timoshenko Georgy 2572 UKR, GM Golod Vitali 2579 ISR, GM Chatalbashev Boris 2566 BUL and Gikas Andreas Basili 2192 GER – 5.5
13-16. IM Narayanan Srinath 2336 IND, FM Mocchi Tullio 2259 ITA, Srebrnic Vojko 2244 SLO and Castelfranchi
